We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Eastern Connecticut Health Network. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-centered care, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, and promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patients' conditions and care needs, including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
- Develop and revise individualized plans of care based on assessment and patient response to treatment, evaluating overall plans periodically for effectiveness.
- Follow the seven medication rights and reduce the potential for medication errors, demonstrating knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.
- Provide patient education and support, promoting health and wellness, and documenting the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner.
- Maintain a good rapport/relationship and a cooperative working relationship with outside agencies, including Public Safety Officials, police, fire, EMS organizations, and referring agencies.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire or within 3 months of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of completion of hire into position, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) within 2 years of hire into position, and maintain certification while employed in this position.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess basic computer skills.
