Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to join our team at WSP USA. As a key member of our Buildings Systems Team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing plumbing and fire protection systems for various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop plumbing and fire protection systems for infrastructure, building, and construction projects.
  • Conduct research and inspections to determine compliance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work, including layout installation of equipment, cost calculations, and quality control.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate research findings and project progress.
  • Ensure quality control standards and procedures are maintained for accurate and precise measurements and calculations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline and prior plumbing and mechanical design experience.
  • Certification in Plumbing Design (CPD) or Engineer in Training (EIT) or NY State Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing and fire protection design, including domestic water supply and distribution systems, sanitary drainage systems, and fire suppression systems.
  • Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
  • Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER).
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training.

Compensation

Expected Salary: $73,100 - $125,400.
