Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Station Operator to join our team at SE Operating Company, LLC. As a Station Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of energy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate all station prime movers and compressors, including start, stop, load adjustment, alarm monitoring, and initial response as required.
  • Recognize and react to abnormal conditions associated with duties.
  • Monitor unit functions during normal operations and perform periodic checks of all operating variables.
  • Set up station in various operating modes based on system demands.
  • Monitor, operate, and perform routine inspections on station air systems, fuel systems, cooling water systems, oil systems, and safety systems.
  • Supervise operational pressures and alarm set points.
  • Operate station auxiliary operational equipment.
  • Operate all station valves.
  • Monitor operation of station filter systems and liquids storage systems.
  • Complete reports accurately and completely.
  • Advise other employees in performance of routine operational duties.
  • Assist others in routine troubleshooting and repair of station equipment.
  • Involved in planning work and contributing budget-related information as required, consistent with the annual budgeting process.
  • Consistently work in a safe, responsible manner and actively participate in safely related programs.
  • Actively participate as a work group team member and maintain a cooperative work relationship with fellow employees.
  • Perform work in compliance with Company policies/procedures as well as external regulatory bodies, such as Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.
  • Perform all duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid Driver's license.
  • Five years of directly relevant training and experience.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, on call, and standby, and travel overnight as required.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions.
  • Currently reside or is willing to reside within a 30-mile radius from the facility you are assigned.
Desired Skills
  • Possesses the desire to learn and advance, as a Station Operator.
  • Solid understanding of operations used in maintenance and repair of pipelines and operational equipment.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience.
  • Computer literate with solid understanding of Excel and Word.
  • Able to work independently with little to no direction.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to work and contribute to a team environment where inclusiveness, integrity, honesty, and openness are valued.
  • Proven ability to drive and perform job safely.
  • Innovative problem solver without compromising SOPs.
  • Willing to assume responsibility and take initiative to resolve issues.
Working Conditions
  • An office-based position with large amounts of field time to support and understand Area Operations needs.
  • May spend time in the field as required to support projects or area operations (approx. travel time, up to 25% no more than 1 full week at a time).
  • High heat exposure risk in field.
  • Extensive driving to reach field locations.
  • Company-paid international relocation is not offered for this role.

Physical Requirements

Include but are not limited to: balancing, bending, and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 25 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 25 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Include but are not limited to: ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand sophisticated problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, coordinate thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and supervise impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports, and connect with individuals via telephone.
