Position Overview:
The Software Quality Assurance Engineer II, reporting to the QA Manager within the Information Technology Quality Management team, is tasked with the development of test strategies, creation of manual test cases, scripting of automated tests, and execution of various testing activities. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality, functionality, reliability, and usability of software products within the healthcare domain.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze business requirements and system documentation to create comprehensive test artifacts, including test plans, test cases, and automated scripts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
2. Employ appropriate testing methodologies to guarantee thorough testing coverage within specified timelines.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to present and socialize testing approaches, artifacts, and metrics.
4. Prepare test data and ensure the test environment is ready prior to execution.
5. Maintain adherence to quality standards, policies, and industry best practices while escalating issues as necessary.
6. Engage proactively with development teams to facilitate early defect prevention throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Participate in test case reviews, user story assessments, and sprint retrospectives to enhance testing processes.
8. Execute both manual and automated tests to validate expected outcomes and document results effectively.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems is required. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in a Software Quality Assurance role, with hands-on experience in functional and non-functional testing. Proven ability to develop test strategies, write test plans, and execute both manual and automated tests. Experience in DevOps practices is preferred.
Skills:
Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies. Proficiency in backend testing using SQL and familiarity with healthcare systems and EDI transactions is advantageous. Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, and tools for test automation like Selenium is preferred.
Certifications:
Preferred candidates will hold certifications such as the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Certification.
