Position Summary:
The Production Team Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our second shift production crew and all associated departments. This role entails managing a workforce of production staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, maintaining quality standards, and enhancing overall productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all safety regulations and company policies are strictly followed.
- Act as the main contact for evaluating and documenting safety incidents, including near misses.
- Promote a safe working environment and implement initiatives aimed at reducing accidents and injuries.
Operational Efficiency:
- Oversee production schedules and modify staffing and resources as necessary to achieve production goals.
- Establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Identify operational challenges and implement solutions for process enhancement.
Team Leadership:
- Guide and manage a team of front-line employees to meet production and quality objectives.
- Evaluate employee performance in relation to attendance, safety, and productivity standards.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and growth opportunities for team members.
- Encourage a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the workforce.
Quality Control:
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards and procedures.
- Investigate and resolve quality concerns in collaboration with quality assurance and engineering teams.
- Implement corrective measures to prevent the recurrence of quality issues.
Performance Monitoring:
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production output, efficiency, and quality.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop action plans to address performance deficiencies and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Work in conjunction with other departments such as maintenance, engineering, and logistics to ensure seamless production operations.
- Collaborate with supply chain management to optimize inventory levels and minimize production interruptions.

- Recruit, promote, and terminate employees as necessary.
- Provide mentorship and guidance.
- Assign and assess work tasks.
- Conduct annual performance reviews.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing setting, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Proven ability to analyze data, solve problems, and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in MS Office and manufacturing ERP systems.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Prior experience or training in Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence (Six Sigma or Lean) is advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required to support production schedules.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment.
