About the Role

Sentry is seeking a highly skilled Client Specialist to join our 401(k) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical expertise to our clients and plan sponsors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide proactive technical guidance and consultative support to clients and plan sponsors on all aspects of plan administration.
  • Build strong relationships with plan sponsors to drive plan success and provide insights into plan operations, compliance requirements, and alternative plan design or administrative approaches.
  • Collaborate with sales producers to communicate compliance test results and recommend alternatives.
  • Accurately manage and document processes for regulatory reports.
  • Partner with the installation process of new plans by coordinating initial contribution processes and consulting on plan design changes.
  • Provide support to internal and external auditors.
  • Maintain knowledge of Sentry's plan documents, contracts, and systems.
  • Manage an assigned book of business and meet all scheduled service deadlines.
  • Assist in staff training and procedure development.
Requirements
  • Prior retirement/401(k) experience and knowledge of retirement/401(k) laws and regulations is highly desirable.
  • Associate Degree or greater preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures.
  • Successful completion of educational courses such as CEBS or ASPPA would be highly beneficial, or desire to complete these courses upon employment.
  • Computer, math aptitude, and ability to communicate and provide exceptional service to our customers required.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and handle several projects simultaneously is necessary.
  • Ability to analyze contracts and documents is required.
