Equipment Inspector

Job Overview:
Accountable for the evaluation of tractors and trailers, alongside executing minor maintenance tasks at fuel stations, as well as conducting fuel inventory counts. Responsibilities may also include the cleaning and detailing of company equipment as directed by supervisors. Maintain cleanliness and organization in all workspaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of tractors and trailers
- Complete and adhere to the preliminary Equipment Interchange form/process
- Implement Lock Out/Tag Out procedures
- Perform annual inspections (if certified)
- Carry out basic mechanical repairs, such as lights, wipers, and decals
- Ensure that all units meet company appearance standards
- Consistently uphold a professional demeanor and communicate respectfully with colleagues and management
- Follow instructions, remain engaged and productive, and adapt to changing conditions
- Work independently while also collaborating with team members across the organization
- Maintain regular and dependable attendance
- Exhibit the company's core values and adhere to company policies and procedures
- Be prepared to undertake additional duties as necessary
Completes moderately complex tasks following established procedures; may involve various work routines; applies a range of skills and experience; selects appropriate alternatives from defined options; may provide on-the-job training to new employees.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
- No prior experience required
- Ability to work in a humid environment
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs overhead repeatedly
- Ability to frequently enter and exit company equipment
- Regular and punctual attendance is a crucial job function
- Physical Requirements: While performing job duties, the employee may occasionally stand, walk, sit, use hands or fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work Environment: Job duties are performed in both an office setting and a light industrial environment, which may involve exposure to minor to moderate noise from office and industrial equipment.
