Chemical Analyst

JRAD is seeking a highly skilled Chemist to join our team in Indian Head, MD.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Chemist to analyze environmental and air samples for chemical contamination. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and laboratory procedures, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Analyze environmental and air samples for chemical contamination using various laboratory techniques and equipment.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including gas and liquid chromatography, mass spectrometers, and other analytical instruments.
• Use Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software to manage analytical data and maintain quality control records.
• Participate in laboratory proficiency testing activities and maintain QA/QC records, including performance charts, control limits, and detection and reporting limits for analytical methods.
• Maintain operator manuals and procedures, and adhere to laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment.

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• At least 10 years of experience in quantitative analysis of chemical compounds.
• Experience with quality management standards, such as ISO 17025, and laboratory instrumentation.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Project, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Active Secret clearance is required.
