Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at UF Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing premium primary medical care services to a diverse range of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Systematically assess patients' health status, arrive at appropriate diagnoses, and implement care plans or effective clinical outcomes while meeting or exceeding quality metrics.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and patient-centered care teams to provide medical care and treatment in the most cost-effective and appropriate way.
- Obtain patient history and perform assessments via observation, interview, and examination.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic procedures as necessary, adhering to appropriate medical practice standards.
- Participate in the evaluation and management of patient care as a member of the patient's care team.
- Perform procedures, suturing, wound care, and infection management, thoroughly documenting such in the patient's medical record.
- Document patient contact encounters, progress notes, orders, prescriptions, test results, and patient instructions according to standard medical practice guidelines and to support appropriate billing practices.
- Educate and encourage patients to become active participants in their own healthcare-related behavior and provide patient education materials related to diagnosis, treatment plans, and need for follow-up care.
- Provide support for vacation coverage by responding to patient calls, patient portal messages, prescription requests, and follow-up to test results.
- Manage patient care through appropriate use of available resources, including available technology and technological platforms.
- One year of professional experience as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
- Three or more years of experience in an ambulatory setting is preferred.
- Active licensure as an APRN or Licensed Physician Assistant in Florida is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification provided by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required within 30 days of hire.
