We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool team at UF Health St. Johns. As a Float Pool Nurse, you will provide individualized nursing care services to patients in various units, including ICU, CVU, and Med/Surg. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and develop your clinical skills.
Key Responsibilities- Perform accurate and complete assessments of patients, requesting consults as needed.
- Establish and update patient plans of care based on periodic assessments.
- Assist with providing physical comfort and safety for patients, including administering medication and ensuring security of personal items.
- Attend rounds with physicians, assist with exams, and review and implement orders.
- Provide concise bedside reports to on-coming shifts and supervise staff as needed.
- Obtain and verify consent forms, supervise staff, and intervene in life-threatening emergencies.
- Evaluate patient pain levels using approved pain scales and intervene to alleviate pain.
- Educate patients and families on pain management and provide documentation.
- Perform QA initiatives related to core measures and hospital admission standards.
- Associates degree in nursing.
- 1 year of acute care nursing experience, with critical care experience preferred.
