The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in patient care, working under the direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician, or other healthcare professionals. This position requires a strong understanding of nursing processes and health care technology, equipment, and supplies.
Key Responsibilities:- Collects patient data, including vital signs, and reports this information accordingly.
- Performs basic nursing care, following established standards and procedures.
- Administers medications within the scope of the license and monitors treatment progress and patient response.
- Prepares and administers injections, performs routine tests, treats wounds, and changes bandages.
- Prepares patient records and files using established medical record forms and documentation practices.
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing program required.
- Current/valid Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse from the state licensing board is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) is required.
- May need IV certification.
- One (1) year experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting preferred.
- One (1) year Specialty clinic experience preferred.
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
