Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled machinist to assist with internal operations, utilizing manual mills and lathes, as well as CAM and CNC Hurco Vertical mills. You will be responsible for analyzing technical drawings and determining the necessary materials for production, collaborating closely with engineering and manufacturing teams. Under the guidance of a Master Machinist, you will enhance your expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans machining processes by reviewing work orders, blueprints, engineering schematics, material specifications, and machining parameters; accurately interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Programs milling machines and lathes using G-code languages by inputting instructions, establishing zero and reference points; configuring tool registers, offsets, and conditional switches; performing calculations involving basic mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry; validating part programs.
- Sets up milling machines and lathes by installing and adjusting various chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; ensuring proper alignment and calibration.
- Maintains operational standards by monitoring drilling, grooving, and cutting processes, including turning, facing, knurling, and threading; conducting measurements; identifying malfunctions; troubleshooting issues; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance protocols.
