Key Responsibilities
  • Preoperative Telephone Calls: Conduct thorough and informative telephone calls with patients to gather medical history and provide detailed preoperative instructions.
  • Preanesthesia Evaluation and Teaching: Perform comprehensive preanesthesia evaluations and provide education to patients on their surgical procedures and postoperative care.
  • Patient Education and Quality Assurance: Participate in patient education and quality assurance initiatives to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document the results of preanesthesia evaluations and report any concerns or issues to the anesthesiologist as needed.
  • Patient Safety and Environment: Ensure a safe environment for patients and maintain a high level of patient safety.
  • Operational Efficiency: Participate in budgetary, marketing, utilization, cost containment, and reduction activities to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve patient care and safety.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and participate in risk management initiatives to minimize adverse events.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice in the State of Florida.
  • Experience: Prefer previous general medical-surgical nursing and/or preoperative/PACU experience.
  • Certifications: Must be BLS & ACLS certified.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Must display comprehensive and current knowledge of general nursing theory and practice.
