Key Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the physician, APP, and registered nurse, the Medical Assistant/LPN will assist in providing care and performing office functions. This includes giving instructions to patients, taking vital signs, and assisting with procedures. The ideal candidate will have a certificate or degree in Medical Assisting or Medical Office Management and BLS certification. Previous experience in a medical environment is preferred, and the ability to communicate and relate well with office staff, ancillary departments, and the public is essential. The Medical Assistant/LPN will also be responsible for keeping medical records in accordance with procedures and forms, following principles of medical ethics, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Additionally, the candidate may be requested to substitute for other office personnel and conduct responsibilities of a receptionist/front desk. Any other assigned duties by the physician, nurses, or manager will also be expected.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a certificate or degree in Medical Assisting or Medical Office Management and BLS certification. Previous experience in a medical environment is preferred, and the ability to communicate and relate well with office staff, ancillary departments, and the public is essential. The candidate must also be able to follow direction, accept orders, and perform repetitive tasks. Computer literacy, including word processing, email, and experience in electronic medical records, is also required. The Medical Assistant/LPN will be expected to perform patient screening using established protocols and maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
Preferred Qualifications:
CCMA, CMA (AAMA), or NCMA certification or RMA plus documented completion of a Medical Assisting program through an accredited institution of higher learning within one year from date of hire.
