Responsibilities:
The Nursing Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who takes on administrative duties for managing all departmental services during their shift.
Conducts regular rounds throughout the facility to assess the quality of care, supervise service delivery, and guide patient care activities as necessary.
Directly oversees, supports, and communicates with all staff across the organization.In the absence of the Hospital Administrative team, the supervisory scope and responsibilities extend to all services within the facility.
Ensures effective operations and patient flow throughout the institution. Provides direct patient care as required, within the limits of practice and expertise. Ensures that all temporary agency staff are deployed and oriented in accordance with hospital policies. Assists medical personnel with scheduling after-hours procedures and coordinating standby staff members. Enhances the patient and family experience through supportive interactions and clear explanations of hospital policies as necessary.Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license.
- Current BLS certification upon hire and ongoing maintenance.
- ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and ongoing maintenance.
- Preferred: One (1) year of prior supervisory experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in acute care nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
