Key Responsibilities:

  • Rotate within the Radiology and CT departments as needed, assisting with training and performing digital image management tasks.
  • Maintain competency in imaging equipment and supplies, including CT, diagnostic equipment, and invasive procedure supplies.
  • Properly position patients for exams, label images correctly, and use appropriate scanning factors and protocols.
  • Provide radiation protection, recognize emergency situations, and initiate code procedures as needed.
  • Perform patient assessment and screening, review prior imaging and history, and maintain aseptic or sterile technique during invasive procedures.
  • Directly assist radiologists during procedures, prepare patients for IV injections, and administer contrast according to approved protocols.
  • Follow CAP and CLIA guidelines for point of care testing, recognize and respond to extravasation of IV contrast, and review images and consult with radiologists as needed.
  • Adhere to established protocols, QA guidelines, and regulatory requirements, and perform accreditation requirements for the American College of Radiology.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team, and maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the department.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of an approved course in Radiologic Technology, and one year of experience conducting routine diagnostic procedures.
  • Registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Diagnostic Radiology is required, and advanced registry is highly preferred for certain modalities.
