This individual will collaborate closely with a designated teacher, offering assistance to students on an individual basis and in group settings, aiding in lesson preparation and materials, evaluating assignments, and documenting student progress.

To excel in this position, the educational support specialist must exhibit empathy, dedication, and a commitment to the success of every student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional support aligned with lesson plans under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
  • Act as a positive and nurturing mentor for students.
  • Exemplify the school's professional and ethical standards in interactions with students, parents, staff, and community members.
  • Supervise students during instructional and assessment activities, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Engage in collaborative planning sessions with the educational team, communicating with parents and school officials as needed.
  • Co-facilitate lesson components as directed by the teacher, leading small group discussions and reviewing student work.
  • Attend to the physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs of students, providing assistance with language translation and personal care when necessary.
  • Organize classroom resources and teaching materials, and monitor student attendance.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as typing, filing, photocopying, grading assignments, and tracking student progress.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, and staff, participating in parent-teacher conferences and faculty meetings.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
