- Provide input on individual employee evaluations, recommend competency assessments, and advise on training needs for nursing staff.
- Utilize various educational methods, including peer consultation, mentorship, and in-service programs, to enhance staff knowledge.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of procedures related to client care, assisting in establishing criteria for quality improvement.
- Provide education to patients and families, explaining discharge instructions and distributing relevant information.
- Oversee medical equipment and inventory, initiating repairs and ordering necessary supplies and medications.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, with a focus on delivering direct client care.
- An associate degree is required; a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse license as mandated by state regulations.
- Three to five years of progressively responsible nursing experience, including supervisory roles and at least one year in psychiatric or substance abuse settings.
- In-depth understanding of nursing theories, principles, and practices to effectively plan, evaluate, and manage nursing programs.
- Familiarity with JCAHO requirements and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to quickly assess client conditions accurately.
- Capacity to manage emergencies and maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to speak effectively to conduct training sessions and communicate with others.
- Ability to record and proofread necessary information and documentation.
- Ability to respond to telephones and pages, and to hear spoken communication.
Pay: $50.00 per hour
