Job Summary

The DOT Driver is responsible for safely operating a tanker truck to transport various oil field related fluids. This role requires a strong understanding of operating procedures to ensure the safety of personnel at the worksite and efficient task completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate tanker truck safely through various terrain types
  • Respond to emergency call-outs as part of the on-call function
  • Work day or night shifts as required
  • Maintain accurate work tickets according to TETRAs requirements
  • Understand basic maintenance concepts
  • Participate in job-related training for equipment operation, TETRAs procedures, and regulatory agency requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
Requirements
  • Class A CDL Drivers License with tanker and hazmat endorsements
  • 2+ years verifiable commercial driving experience
  • 2+ years verifiable hazmat experience
  • Valid DOT Medical Card
  • Ability to work up to 70 hours per week
  • Pass a drug test, background check, road test, driving record review, and physical assessment
  • 2+ years driving in an oilfield environment
  • Knowledge of placarding trailers and/or trucks
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials rules on labeling, transporting, and loading
Physical Demands
  • Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work
  • Standing, walking, and sitting while working indoors or outdoors
  • Lifting/carrying, pulling/pushing, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and climbing ladders or stairs
Work Environment
  • Sitting behind a steering wheel for extended periods
  • Long periods away from home and family, working night shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Exposure to varying environmental conditions, including chemicals, gases, cold/heat, noise, dampness, dust, fumes, radiation, and heights
