Job Title: Materials Manager

Anderson Dahlen is seeking a highly skilled Materials Manager to oversee the planning and coordination of our inventory and purchasing departments. This role is responsible for managing the overall shipping and receiving functions, ensuring seamless operations and optimal supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic sourcing activities, including competitive vendor assessments and managing supplier agreements.
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify purchasing needs and recommend solutions to existing processes to reduce waste and increase quantity.
  • Record and assess all materials quality, movement, and expenditures.
  • Manage the distribution of supplies in the organization and monitor inventory levels and access to materials.
  • Collaborate with management to plan forecasting models and oversee and support subordinates in buying, shipping, and receiving.
  • Prepare and file detailed records on procurement activity, quantity, and vendors.
  • Design and maintain department and inventory budgets.
  • Maintain and report on materials and sourcing-related Key Performance Indicators, with continuous improvement activities as a result.
  • Manage excess and obsolete materials and participate in shared services teams supporting other sites and M&A activity as needed.
  • Establish best practices and processes and implement across supported sites.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, or a relevant field.
  • APICS certification desired.
  • 5+ years' experience in a purchasing role.
  • Proven managerial experience.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Analytical mind with exceptional problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:

This role will primarily involve operating a computer at a desk in an office environment.
