As a Charge Nurse Preceptor, you will be responsible for coordinating daily activities and distributing work in the Radiology Services area during scheduled shifts. You will also act as a professional educator and resource for new employees, demonstrating clinical expertise and competence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily activities and distribute work in the Radiology Services area during scheduled shifts.
  • Act as a professional educator and resource for new employees, demonstrating clinical expertise and competence.
  • Work with a unit-specific patient population, providing care and services to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Set priorities based on the situation at hand, combining direct patient care, management, and education roles with responsibility for a unit during an eight to twelve hour shift.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in skills applicable to designated area within probationary period.
  • Demonstrated ability to assume Charge Nurse responsibilities and clinical expertise in area.
  • Successful completion of a management course prior to appointment, or within six months of employment.
  • Two years RN experience or One year as a RN AND Two years as a LPN.
  • Two years recent experience in specialty.
  • Certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
  • Completion of the Charge-Preceptor course at Northside.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in area of specialty.
