Job Title: Charge Nurse

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team at Sakakawea Medical Center. As a Charge Nurse, you will play a vital role in the care of our residents, providing leadership and guidance to our nursing staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care to residents, including assessing their needs, developing and implementing care plans, and evaluating their progress.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to develop and implement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in infection prevention and control initiatives, including monitoring and reporting on infection rates and implementing prevention strategies.
  • Assist with staffing, including scheduling and rescheduling, finding replacements for ill calls and open shifts, and filling shifts if no replacement can be found.
  • Participate in resident teaching and education, including providing one-on-one teaching to medication aides and staff.
  • Assist with completing a mock survey and participating in health and life safety survey process.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Unencumbered RN license with the NDBON and/or possess multi-state licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • Two or more years of nursing experience, preferably in geriatric care.
  • Knowledgeable on basic care licensing regulations.
Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position, working 24 hours per week, with day shift and occasional night, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.
