The Specialist serves as a liaison between patients, family members, hospital management, and staff to maintain and improve patient satisfaction, experience, and quality of services.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with the processing of health information, including the assembly of analysis, release of information, and processing of medical records.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Provide exceptional customer service, handling difficult situations with tact and professionalism.
- Utilize strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, family members, and healthcare staff.
- Perform extensive clerical work with accuracy and speed, including data entry and record-keeping.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in healthcare administration.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a healthcare and/or customer service-related industry.
- Typing skills of forty (40) words per minute.
- Effective communication skills and ability to handle difficult customers or situations.
- Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
- General knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance.
- Experience in patient interviewing.
- Flexibility for weekend, vacation, and other shift work as scheduled.
- High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate.
The Patient Registration Representative/Medical Records Specialist will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, requiring adaptability and flexibility. The Specialist will be expected to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as scheduled by the department.
