Job Summary:

The TeleOncology Nurse Practitioner will function as a practitioner, role model, change agent, innovator, teacher, researcher, and consultant to contribute to the development and management of complex oncology patient care. This is a remote/telework position that requires credentialed and privileged status through Durham VAMC.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage complex oncology patient care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide high-quality patient care and education to patients and families.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices and policies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research studies.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in nursing with specialization as a nurse practitioner.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in oncology.
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted license from any US jurisdiction.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Board certification by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • Preferred certification as Advanced Oncology Certified Practitioner (AOCNP) from Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).
