Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the financial goals and objectives of Northwestern Medicine. This position is responsible for analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the monthly review and analysis of operational performance relative to financial and productivity goals.
  • Monitor budget performance by reviewing and analyzing actual expenditures and budget variances.
  • Prepare financial reports and interpret financial data to inform decision making.
  • Support coordination across financial systems to ensure consistency across multiple platforms and process owners.
  • Support finance and operational leadership during the annual budget planning process, helping to create accurate, realistic, and optimized fiscal year budgets.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision making related to physician, advanced practice provider, and staff requests.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Three or more years of financial analysis experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Health Administration (MHA), or Master's degree in a relevant analytical field.
  • Five years of accounting/finance experience.
  • Previous healthcare experience.
