***$8,000 Sign-on bonus available for eligible candidates, distributed in 20% increments every six months over two years (initial payment, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, 24 months) - a 6-month commitment is required, with no repayment obligation after that period.***

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Operating Room Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinating all activities within the unit/department during their assigned shift. Collaborating with the management team, the CNC oversees, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in alignment with established policies and procedures, serving as a resource for staff and exemplifying a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

As an OR Nurse Board Runner, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing therapeutic communication in daily interactions.
  • Maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Identifying nursing challenges based on individual patient needs.
  • Planning personalized patient care through an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Participating in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring care aligns with the hospital's mission and vision.

In the role of charge nurse, Registered Nurses are accountable for daily operations to guarantee quality patient care in a therapeutic setting. Responsibilities include making staff assignments based on patient needs, acuity, and staff skills, serving as role models and clinical resources, and responding promptly to inquiries from physicians, staff, or patients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing members of the designated service line, including Registered Nurses, First Assistants, Surgical Technologists, and Second Assistants.
  • Delivering perioperative nursing care to surgical patients.
  • Ensuring a sterile and safe environment in the operating room.
  • Performing circulator, scrub, and first assistant roles competently.
  • Providing guidance and serving as a resource for specialty team members to ensure comprehensive and safe patient care.
  • Maintaining accountability for the availability of supplies and equipment necessary for cases within the assigned specialty.

Qualifications include:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current state RN licensure or compact licensure.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • CNOR certification preferred.
  • Previous experience as an OR RN is required; leadership experience is preferred.
