About the Role
Webber is seeking an experienced Pipelayer/Mechanical Crew Technician to join our team. As a key member of our mechanical crew, you will be responsible for installing pumps, blowers, and specialty equipment for water and wastewater applications.
Key Responsibilities
• Install concrete, clay, steel, ductile iron, plastic, corrugated pipe, and other types of pipe for storm drainage, water lines, gas lines, and sanitary sewer lines.
• Lay underground communication and electrical ducts.
• Install valves and other accessories.
• Perform other related duties, including caulking joints, making threaded and flanged connections, and installing electrical ground boxes, hand holes, manholes, inlets, and other structures.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED (preferred but not required).
• 2+ years' experience as a pipelayer.
• Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications.
• Ability to move throughout a construction jobsite, including minor obstacles, and perform heavy physical activity.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
Work Environment
• Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions, such as rain, sun, snow, and wind.
• Ability to climb ladders and inclines, operate heavy equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
