Job Summary

CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is seeking a skilled Transportation Construction Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with contract documents and providing expert advice to contractors, consultants, and engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure that contractors adhere to contract documents and industry standards.
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Provide expert advice to contractors, consultants, and engineers on matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and construction methods.
  • Progress Reporting: Prepare daily progress reports and maintain progress schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Shop Drawings and Quotations: Review and approve shop drawings and contractors' quotations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records of quantities and costs of materials used, and prepare contractors' periodic progress payment claims.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, and perform basic math computations.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of PennDOT experience or higher, or minimum of two years of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience.
  • Certifications: NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction, NECEPT Bituminous field certification, ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification, PennDOT/PTC CDS certification, ECMS experience, and OSHA 10-Hour certification are preferred.
