Job Title: High School Building Custodian

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a High School Building Custodian. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students, teachers, and staff.

About the Role:

The Custodian will be required to perform various tasks such as dusting, washing glass and other surfaces, vacuuming, stripping and waxing floors, shampooing carpets, and other general cleaning tasks in classrooms, bathrooms, offices, cafeteria, gymnasiums, stairwells, hallways, and other spaces within the building and its exterior. They will also be responsible for removing building rubbish, snow removal, and sidewalk clearing.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment by performing custodial tasks
  • Perform repairs, light maintenance, and preventative maintenance on buildings, building systems, furniture, and equipment as needed
  • Remove building rubbish, snow, and clear sidewalks
  • Move furniture and school supplies as needed
  • Respond quickly to facility emergencies, sanitary needs, or principal requirements
  • Communicate with the senior custodian and director of public buildings through meetings, emails, and phone calls
  • Work cooperatively with teachers and staff to protect school property and ensure general safety
  • Promptly report any damage of school property or malfunction of maintenance systems to the senior custodian or director of public buildings


Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • Valid D-class driver's license
  • Ability to use email and work order system (on a computer) and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Maximum lifting requirement is 45 pounds


Salary: $25-$35 per hour, depending on experience

This is a part-time position working 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm. We offer a competitive salary and opportunities for professional growth and development.
