Job Title: CAT Scan Technologist

NYU Langone Health is seeking a skilled CAT Scan Technologist to join our team in Staten Island.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to operate computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce high-quality images of patients' internal organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately interpret physicians' scanning instructions and administer contrast materials as needed.
  • Prepare and operate CT scan equipment, positioning patients to capture the required images.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hospital and radiology information systems, including radiology information systems (RIS) and hospital information systems (HIS).
  • Follow departmental procedures and protocols to ensure orders are verified and processed correctly.
  • Review patients' requisitions and understand the type of exam required, conferring with medical staff as needed.
  • Follow accepted radiologic procedures and use medical information to determine the type of protocol required for radiographic examinations.
  • Consult policy and procedure manuals and/or other reference materials as necessary to ensure actions conform to established protocols.
  • Explain procedures and equipment to patients clearly.
  • Demonstrate skill in equipment setup, utilization, and maintenance procedures.
  • Perform visual and manual quality control checks of radiographic equipment.
  • Use imaging and peripheral equipment safely and productively in accordance with prescribed hospital, departmental, and manufacturer's procedures.
  • Observe and report any malfunctioning equipment and notify appropriate personnel in case of missing or damaged equipment.
Requirements:
  • Technical Diploma from an AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
