Water Infrastructure Repair Specialist

Job Summary

Under the guidance of experienced professionals, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on the City of Arlington's water and wastewater infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, water mains, sewer mains, valves, and other critical components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work an on-call schedule to respond to after-hours emergencies.
  • Operate heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, tractors, and dump trucks, to support infrastructure repairs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment with exposure to dust, fumes, and extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to lift or exert forces equivalent to 90 pounds.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to respond to emergency situations.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand-held or power tools.
