Sanchez Energy Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement Process Safety Management programs to ensure compliance with OSHA PSM Standard and company policies.
- Collaborate with Operations to create Management of Change (MOC) documents and track action items to completion.
- Update Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), Operating Procedures, and other relevant documents to reflect changes.
- Enforce and clarify Company Safety policies, standards, and procedures.
- Liaise with onsite leadership and management to create HSE goals, priorities, and key performance measures.
- Analyze and interpret HSE technical procedures and regulations.
- Create and implement training programs for operations and maintenance personnel.
- Oversee contractor safety program, including vetting and documentation of contractors working in the covered process.
- Conduct audits of Company operations to ensure compliance with applicable HSE legislation and standards.
- Actively participate in HSE Incident Investigations using the 5 Why model and follow up on corresponding recommendations.
- Track and report incidents, near misses, spills, and releases to Management and company HSE.
- Conduct site surveys, safety evaluations, and hazard identification assessments.
- Manage Permit to Work activities, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR).
- Work with EH&S Lead on environmental concerns or issues in the plant.
- Monitor and maintain adequate safety equipment.
- Review audit and inspection reports and monitor completion of corrective actions.
- Track non-conformance results from audits and analyze causes.
- Lead and participate in risk management and HSE activities, including risk assessments, audits, and HSE Meetings.
- Conduct orientations for new and existing employees.
- Monitor work sites and operations to ensure a safety culture exists.
- Prepare technical reports as requested.
- Commitment to a high standard of safety and willingness to comply with all safety laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Visible leadership engagement and awareness of housekeeping.
- Personal behaviors and work practices in line with Company safety standards.
- Responsibility for safety of self and others in the vicinity.
- Participation and promotion of Stop Work Authority (SWA) and behavioral-based safety programs.
- Active participation in various meetings, including monthly safety meetings and risk assessment/pre-job meetings.
