Overview:

The Senior Enterprise Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping the architectural framework for a major automotive financial organization. This position demands a comprehensive grasp of enterprise architecture and cloud technologies, along with the capability to collaborate effectively across diverse departments to ensure that the architecture meets both business objectives and non-functional requirements (NFRs).

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Architecture Development:

  • Formulate strategies for NFRs and cross-domain functionalities across the entire infrastructure.
  • Align architecture with overarching architectural principles, business objectives, and NFRs, focusing on security, performance, and scalability.
  • Lead the creation of enterprise architecture roadmaps, patterns, and blueprints.
  • Engage with the Global Architecture Council to secure approval and alignment with organizational standards.

Architectural Design:

  • Design scalable, secure, and resilient reference architectures utilizing industry best practices and the cloud Well-Architected Framework.
  • Oversee the assessment, selection, and deployment of cloud services and solutions.
  • Devise disaster recovery and backup strategies to guarantee business continuity.
  • Create patterns and solutions for common challenges such as observability and availability across the organization.
  • Ensure that implementation patterns comply with information security policies and best practices.

Technical Leadership:

  • Act as the technical authority in enterprise and cloud architecture, providing mentorship to junior staff and cross-functional teams.
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies to foster innovation.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are optimized for deployment in hybrid cloud environments.

Security and Compliance:

  • Guarantee that solutions adhere to security best practices and comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Implement identity and access management controls to safeguard data and resources.

Cost Management:

  • Monitor and enhance cost efficiency, implementing strategies for cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide insights for cost allocation and chargeback models.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with business leaders to comprehend strategic goals and ensure solutions align with those objectives.
  • Articulate strategies and roadmaps to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Facilitate the adoption of designed patterns throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is advantageous.

Experience:

  • 15+ years in IT, with a minimum of 5 years in enterprise and cloud architecture and design.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Thorough understanding of the AWS and Azure Well-Architected Framework.
  • Proficient in using architecture diagramming tools and frameworks such as Sparkx EA, Archimate, C4, UML to convey architecture patterns.

Certifications:

  • Relevant enterprise architecture certification such as TOGAF is a plus.
  • Relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect are highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Robust understanding of networking, virtualization, and storage concepts.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps practices.

Interview Process:

The interview will focus on problem-solving capabilities, including whiteboarding exercises to assess the candidate's architectural and communication skills.
