Position Overview

The Procurement Specialist will oversee the acquisition of goods and services, including raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, testing, and supplies essential for the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitates purchasing planning and control by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Coordinates and supervises the supply and delivery of materials and products.
  • Assesses material availability in current inventory.
  • Prepares purchase requisitions and orders by confirming specifications and pricing.
  • Manages procurement by forwarding orders to suppliers and tracking order progress.
  • Confirms receipt of items by comparing received goods to orders; addresses shipment discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Authorizes payment for purchases by reconciling received documentation.
  • Handles supplier non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Maintains organized records by sorting and filing documents.
  • Achieves purchasing and organizational objectives by completing related tasks as necessary.
  • Applies established guidelines or policies in evaluating situations.
  • Receives moderate guidance and direction.
  • Provides informal mentorship to new team members.
  • Addresses problems in straightforward scenarios; evaluates potential solutions using technical expertise and established precedents.
  • Encourages personal accountability for Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) by adhering to HMH's HSSE governing policies.
Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience; experience in manufacturing is highly desirable.
