Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager is a key member of the store management team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the store as Manager On-Duty, in conjunction with the management team, to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and develop a team of associates to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure the store is merchandised and maintained to the highest standards, including visual displays and inventory management.
  • Train and develop associates to improve their skills and knowledge, and facilitate cross-training for further development.
  • Communicate effectively with all store associates through daily briefings and regular meetings.
  • Consult with the General Manager on associate performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Requirements:

  • 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
  • Previous experience in a supervisor role
  • Successful completion of all required background screenings
  • Computer and cash register skills

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use hands/arms to operate keyboard, telephone, and for repetitive motion activities
  • Ability to lift or team lift objects up to 50 lbs., with or without assistance
  • Ability to communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, or crouch while performing daily activities of the job
