Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Walgreens. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting our pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, including the preparation and dispensing of medications.
  • Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with customers and patients to ensure a positive experience.
  • Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, adhering to Walgreens service traits and standards.
  • Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers, identifying their needs and providing personalized support.
  • Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including maintaining accurate records and adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Report prescription errors to pharmacists on duty and participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Strictly adhere to Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
  • Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle cash as required, and take customers to OTC aisle to assist in locating products.
  • Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
  • Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
  • May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other clinical services as required.
Requirements
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB or ExCPT certification.
