Patient Access Representative Part Time ED

The Patient Access Representative plays a vital role in the revenue cycle by accurately processing patient data, including insurance and demographic information. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain current knowledge of payor insurance requirements and provide excellent customer service to patients, medical staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Acquire, enter, and update patient registration information into the Eclipsys system
* Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain authorizations
* Request and collect co-pays, deposits, and issue receipts
* Communicate with medical and clinical personnel regarding patient access, interfacility transfers, and discharge processing
Requirements:
* Two years of medical office or customer service experience
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Basic mathematical skills and proficiency in word processing software
Work Environment:
This position is located in a clinical setting and requires the ability to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and colleagues.
