Job Description

This role requires a skilled Linux Kernel Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of upstream Linux. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in software design and development, with a focus on distributed, highly-scalable, multi-node environments.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Focusing on Linux IO stack development from both kernel and userspace.
  2. Contributing to Oracle Linux community in various areas (nvme, device-mapper, mdadm, scsi/iscsi, performance tuning, security).
  3. Monitoring and following up upstream on critical issues and backporting to Oracle Linux as required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of software design and development experience with distributed, highly-scalable, multi-node environments.
  • An open source focus and the ability to contribute to and work with external developers, vendors, and working groups.
  • Experience with Linux kernel block layer is a must.
  • In-depth knowledge and product development experience working on the Linux or similar systems.
  • Demonstrates advanced experience with C as well as solid experience with scripting languages such as Python, shell, etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
  • A background in developing large scale compute or storage products is a strong plus.
