Job Overview

The Precision Machine Assembler is responsible for utilizing a diverse range of machinery and hand tools to execute various fabrication and assembly tasks essential for the installation, commissioning, modification, and repair of both advanced and standard machinery, components, and equipment. This role entails taking ownership of the overall assembly process and project scope, leading the workforce, and collaborating with manufacturing teams for equipment repairs and training. The assembler will also engage with engineering teams to enhance equipment design and functionality. Adherence to systematic processes for job tracking and documentation is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Lockout/Tag-out procedures and adhere to safety protocols during equipment commissioning.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Possess a solid understanding of general equipment maintenance and mechanical operations, including index and continuous functions.
  • Exhibit knowledge of pneumatic systems, including diagrams and valves, and apply safe practices in energy force usage.
  • Optimize feed systems for peak performance.
  • Understand Servo Motor control mechanisms and configure Servo points effectively.
  • Work with proximity switches and fiber optic detectors, including electronic pneumatic detectors.
  • Troubleshoot and commission various types of assembly machinery.
  • Interpret technical drawings and identify discrepancies in prints, materials, and routing sheets for rectification.
  • Occasional travel may be required for equipment installation and commissioning support.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines as stipulated by the company.

Physical Requirements

To perform the duties outlined above, technicians must be capable of using basic hand and power tools, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, standing, and moving on stairs and platforms, as well as entering confined spaces. They should also be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods. Technicians are expected to possess skills in manufacturing processes, including operating and maintaining automated equipment, keeping accurate records, and demonstrating strong technical, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of computer systems is also essential. Safety is a top priority at Procter & Gamble, and technicians are required to wear appropriate safety gear, including safety shoes, ear protection, and eye protection.

Qualifications

All candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Hold a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational qualification.
  • Be willing to wear safety shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection.
Compensation
Starting Pay / Salary Range: $25-$55 per hour.
