Join Our Team as a Certified Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Johnston-Willis Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to our hospital's mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain NBRC credentials for Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Fulfill staff meeting, in-service, competency, and ongoing education requirements
  • Perform non-invasive SpO2 monitoring through pulse oximetry via overnight studies, exercise, continuous, and spot checks
  • Administer all therapy modalities to patients per physician orders
  • Perform VEST therapy
  • Perform basic operations on the Meditech system
  • Perform regular equipment rounds
  • Perform equipment cleaning and setup
  • Set up and operate CPAP/Bi-Level therapy
  • Perform arterial puncture and blood gas analysis
  • Adhere to established blood gas quality control protocol
  • Set up and monitor NIPPV (non-invasive positive pressure ventilation) through both Bi-Level and Volume ventilation
  • Initiate, operate, and monitor Adult mechanical ventilators
  • Initiate, operate, and monitor Nitric Oxide therapy
  • Initiate, operate, and monitor Heliox therapy
  • Precept new employees or staff members entering into a new area of training
  • Perform Metabolic testing for spontaneously breathing and artificially ventilated patients
Requirements:
  • Licensed Certified Respiratory Therapist (LCRT), or RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP), or Respiratory Therapist - Non Registered
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist, or State Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Associate Degree, or Vocational School Graduate
