About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic 2 to join our team at the University of Miami. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain general building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Repair and install equipment, including pumps, motors, and controls.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Direct and support technical support staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Respond to service requests, including hot calls, cold calls, and odor complaints.
  • Inspect water and life safety systems, and respond to all fire systems and emergency calls.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in relevant specialty or field required, or valid license from Miami Dade County required.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Commitment to the University's core values.
