Associate Plant IT Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Plant IT Analyst to join our team at Smithfield Foods. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a critical role in implementing and supporting technology solutions for our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in translating business needs into IT requirements for manufacturing and engineering projects.
- Design, test, and implement changes, enhancements, and upgrades to systems.
- Work with plant operations to review current business processes and identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
- Recommend innovative uses of existing software functionality to reduce manual effort and maximize return on investment in technology.
- Assist in the functional configuration, modification, and testing of designated systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare site infrastructure for new equipment, systems, and processes.
- Travel to implementation sites to assist in on-site deployment and training.
- Assist in prioritizing system issues and troubleshooting systems to propose fixes.
- Maintain and enhance systems to support changing business and technical needs.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Manufacturing systems experience preferred.
- Effective critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work effectively at all levels across the organization.
- Ability to travel up to 30% dependent on projects and plant support needs.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 20 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and talking or hearing.
- Plant environment includes wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
