Senior Supervising Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Supervising Engineer to lead our engineering team in delivering critical infrastructure projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising a group of engineers and design personnel, directing technical engineering assignments, and coordinating project staffing assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and ensure that work produced meets applicable codes, standards, and procedures.
  • Monitor productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel.
  • Make staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, take corrective action as necessary, and recommend promotions and salary actions.
  • Help define discipline design organization and participation on a project, including scope of work, design criteria, schedules, standards, and procedures.
  • Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
  • Supervise the production of project drawings and design calculations, conduct constructability reviews, and review project specifications.
  • Promote technical excellence on the project and further the Quality Improvement Process.
  • Ensure that discipline design work is coordinated with project staff and engineers from other disciplines through clear and frequent communications.
  • Advise engineering and project management on problem areas, staffing requirements, delays in production, scope changes, or other events that could affect project completion and/or profitability.
  • Familiar with Design Services During Construction, change orders, and coordination with field staff.
  • Ensure that adequate checking is performed in accordance with discipline checking policy and procedures.
  • Recommend design methods, equipment use, etc., for discipline standards.
  • Maintain affiliation with professional societies to stay current with technologies.
  • Recommend and prepare technical papers.

Requirements

A 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field) and 15+ years of related work experience are required. Professional Engineer registration may be necessary.
