Project Engineer I

Nidec Corporation is a leading manufacturer of commercial, industrial, and appliance motors and controls. We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Automation division in St. Louis, MO.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate engineer activities associated with development and production launch of variable speed BLDC motors and gearmotors for motion control and robotics applications.
- Specify motor assemblies comprising of motors, gearboxes, sensors, and controls.
- Sample motors to customers, obtain agency approvals where necessary, set up production BOMs and drawings, and provide product launch support at Nidec manufacturing facilities.
- B.S in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 0-3 years work experience, preferably in electric motor industry.
- Co-op/Internship experience in engineering or manufacturing environment a plus.
- Informal leadership skills and ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Solid interpersonal skills and team orientation.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to navigate Microsoft Office application and learn other computer skills.
- Familiarity/experience to safely operate hand tools and power tools (drills, band saw).
