Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician to join our medical clinical team at Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas (CHC/SEK). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, managing acute and chronic illnesses, and providing education to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide comprehensive outpatient care to patients, including health examinations and treatment of medical conditions.
  2. Manage acute and chronic illnesses, routine care, and coordinate care plans with behavioral health providers when necessary.
  3. Make appropriate referrals to internal disciplines and external resources for additional services required.
  4. Prescribe medications for patients as indicated.
  5. Provide clinical consultation to other providers within CHC/SEK as needed.
  6. Oversee mid-level providers and medical students responsible for providing medical services.
  7. Ensure accurate, timely, and clear medical record documentation.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, guardians, and employees.
  9. Participate in an on-call system for after-hours care and inpatient population.
Requirements
  1. Full licensure to practice medicine in the State of Kansas and/or Oklahoma.
  2. Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
  3. Completion of residency in an appropriate specialty.
  4. Board Certification in an appropriate specialty.
  5. A strong community/public health orientation, preferred.
  6. Commitment to serving the underserved.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patient-and employee-base.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of the rationale of appropriate patient care.
  3. Communicate effectively through proper channels.
  4. Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
  5. Computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Office products and proficiency in the EHR.
  6. Maintain good interpersonal relationships with co-workers and other members of the healthcare team.
  7. Provide customer service in accordance with the organization's mission.
