Job Summary

This position is located in the Dental Department at the Northeastern Tribal Health System, Miami, Oklahoma. The purpose of this role is to provide general, basic dental care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency dental care, including extractions, restoration, and endodontic treatment and medications.
  • Perform routine dental examinations and prevention, including taking X-rays.
  • Document patient chief complaint, objective and subjective findings, diagnosis and treatment provided.
  • Provide routine dental care services consistent with diagnosis of need and within the scope of approved dental privileges.
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical records and other information as required by applicable laws, HIPAA regulations and policies.
  • Knowledge of proper documentation of needed and provided, including use of ADA codes.
  • Supervise the functions and staff of the Dental department in the absence of the Chief Dentist.
  • Ensure department is maintaining AAAHC accreditation practices.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree or Doctor of Medicinal Dentistry (DMD) Degree.
  • Must maintain active State License.
  • Must maintain active DEA License.
  • Two to five years of Dental Experience.
  • Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supervising a team.

  • Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Working in close contact with patients means exposure to communicable diseases. Work demands sitting and bending for periods of time while providing dental care. Physical strength in arms is required for extractions. Frequent fine motor muscular demands on hands is required while using hand instruments and headpieces.
