Overview: Soliant is seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, helping them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of each student.
  • Deliver direct instruction and support in both inclusive and resource room settings.
  • Modify curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, making necessary adjustments to instructional strategies based on data and individual performance.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals to support student success.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and IEP goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, IEPs, and other required documentation.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Arizona teaching certificate in Special Education (K-12).
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
  • Experience with IEP development and implementation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
  • Experience working with students with various disabilities is preferred.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

  • Arizona Department of Education (ADE) Special Education Certificate.
  • Certification in Mild/Moderate Disabilities (K-12) or Severe/Profound Disabilities (K-12).
  • Any additional certifications required by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE).

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in using assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
  • Familiarity with behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and positive behavioral supports.
  • Training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or other specialized instructional techniques.
