Electrical Engineer Job Description

At Smith Seckman Reid, we are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Fort Worth, TX. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing innovative electrical systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop electrical design approaches and concepts for projects, working closely with senior design staff.
  • Perform specific engineering studies and design analyses using industry software.
  • Oversee the preparation of drawings, ensuring accuracy and neatness of work.
  • Evaluate the work of design colleagues and provide feedback and/or corrections.
  • Attend meetings with owners, clients, or architects as needed.
  • Coordinate with local authorities, utilities, and municipalities to incorporate associated construction, code, and government requirements.
  • Assist with the development of the overall man-hour budget and be responsible for the man-hour budget within the discipline.
  • Provide input, feedback, and updates on project schedules and plan work in accordance with the schedule.
  • Responsible for performing studies, load calculations, and selection of equipment appropriate to the project design.
  • Responsible for coordinating equipment and overall design space requirements with the architect and other disciplines.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college with four years applicable experience in discipline design and analysis.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Revit experience is a must.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies.
