Job Summary

Bellwether Community Credit Union is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Bank Teller to join our team. As a key holder and branch leader, you will be responsible for ensuring operational integrity and compliance, while providing exceptional member service and coaching and mentoring our Member Service Representatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage branch cash, including balancing, auditing, ordering, shipping, and maintenance of cash and negotiable instruments.
  • Coach and mentor MSR staff on transactions and security, including transaction accuracy, cash handling practices, and fraud mitigation.
  • Provide override and transaction support, answer inquiries, and resolve complex member account concerns.
  • Make sound decisions and exceptions to policy when warranted, while demonstrating strong decision-making skills and sound judgment.
  • Engage in sensitive and sometimes confrontational conversations to prevent or uncover fraud and risk.
  • Organize, schedule, and manage cash for all BCCU Offsite ATMs, in partnership with the Member Service Manager.
  • Set an example of excellence in member service, managing difficult situations and deescalating member situations when needed.
  • Engage in sales and service activities to initiate, develop, and retain relationships with members through advising on best products and service solutions.
  • Prepare and close various consumer loan products, while educating members on loan protection products.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of operational experience within a financial related organization, including knowledge of bank products, services, and regulations.
  • Skilled in understanding and managing retail branch operations, including policy, procedures, compliance, and security.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to ensure co-workers and members understanding.
  • Strong security skills to uncover risk and mitigate fraud.
  • Exhibit positive attitude and professionalism, displaying role-model behavior.
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task, handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to coach and mentor MSRs.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and exceptions to policy when warranted.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to resolve member issues in a timely manner.
