Substation Superintendent

As a Substation Superintendent with Kiewit Corporation, you will play a critical role in the success of our Transmission and Substation projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the execution of work, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications, and maintaining positive working relationships with clients, architects, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

• Mentor and develop junior superintendents to ensure their growth and success
• Review and approve labor rates for foremen, journeymen, and laborers
• Manage contract administration, including subcontractor and field management meetings
• Develop and implement a program to maintain good client relations
• Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
• Review, approve, and negotiate change orders
• Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover
• Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations for direct reports

• 8+ years of construction experience, with 3+ years in a superintendent or leadership capacity
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and quickly learn Kiewit's policies and software programs
• Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration

This position requires regular, reliable attendance and the ability to work productively and meet deadlines. You will be required to communicate and interact effectively with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. You will also be expected to perform work safely and effectively, understand and follow oral and written instructions, and work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
